Meta, the social media behemoth, has acknowledged investigating the widespread outage affecting its platforms – Facebook, Instagram, and Threads.
On Tuesday, Elon Musk utilized the social media platform X to express his perspective on Meta’s global outage affecting Facebook and Instagram. The billionaire shared an animated image featuring a penguin adorned with the X logo observing counterparts adorned with the logos of Facebook, Instagram, and Threads.
Meta, the social media giant, announced an investigation into the worldwide outage of its Facebook, Instagram, and Threads platforms following user complaints of being unable to access their accounts.
“Meta spokesperson Andy Stone addressed the issues, stating on X, ‘We’re aware that people are experiencing difficulties accessing our services. We are actively working on resolving this matter.
According to the DownDetector website, reports of Facebook being down reached a peak of around 500,000 at 10:30 am US East Coast time (1530 GMT). Simultaneously, Instagram experienced a peak of about 70,000 reports at the same time.

According to ANI, the DownDetector map displayed outages in cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and many others.

Facebook’s official status page acknowledges “major disruptions” on the site and assures users that engineering teams are actively working to swiftly resolve the issue.
