US Officials have Issued a Strong Warning Against any Possible Rafah Invasion by Israel as it is Determined to Proceed
Prime American officials have emitted stern warnings against a potentially Israeli invasion of Rafah, in notices that it might have excessive loss of civilian lives, Hamas rebellion eruption, and vacuum of power for insurgents.
Concerns Over Civilian Casualties
U. S. Secretary of State, Mr. Antony Blinken and the President’s National Security Adviser, Mr. Jake Sullivan repeated these hesitations, mentioning the statement made by Mr. Joe Biden on CNN about two weeks ago. Biden instructed that the Israelis should be very careful if they decide to occupy Rafah because it could lead to certain weapon transfers from the US being stopped.
An Agnostic’s Perspective: Disapproval of an Ill-Conceived Campaign
In summary, both Blinken and Sullivan reaffirmed the position of the president; specifically, Biden is unwilling to provide backing to an unnecessary operation that would only lead to more deaths. They tried to disprove the opinion that Biden was deserting Israel, as their main purpose was to prevent the misuse of American weapons.
Addressing Civilian Harm
Blinken stressed the necessity of minimizing civilian harm on Israel`s part in conjunction with the relatively larger number of casualties on the side of those in Gaza whose civilian population had suffered from the conflict. He harped on the usage of due process and given regulation to prevent civilian sufferings and casualties.
Escalating Humanitarian Crisis
The Ministry of Health in Gaza stated the number of casualties increased as a result of Israeli military operations, which revealed the worsening humanitarian crisis in the area.
Several Consequences of a Ground Invasion that can be Anticipated
Even though other Americans have been discouraging a ground construction of Rafah for a very long time, Israel still seems to be determined to continue with its advance. Blinaben noted that all these points may have serious consequences, including taking over the insurgency or leaving behind a vacuum that may be exploited by Hamas.
Concerns Over Civilian Casualties
But, Sullivan voiced the same concerns in connection with the Israel operation, stressing that it would inevitably have a high percentage of civilian victims and, even in the case of destroying the opposition (Hamas), there is no guarantee for the success.
US-Israel Dialogue
Sullivan recaptured the US doubts during his talk with the Israeli counterpart Tzachi Hanegbi, underscoring the Biden’s worries about a major military operation in Rafah.
Call for Post-War Planning
Blinken pointed out the missed chance to create a post-war plan for Gaza, following the war. He said the plan must be able to fulfilled security, governance and rebuilding needs. That is why Hamas should not be given the chance to regain their power.

Evaluation of Weapon Use
A report by the State Department came out mentioning that Amnesty International saw Israeli soldiers fire US weapons at Gaza. Although it discovered some actions that were not in line with the international law of war, it did not officially say that they were violations.
Diplomatic Relationship
Blinken, however, emphasized that the American and Israeli leaders are two different individuals and that both countries uphold their own priorities while having a satisfactory and close relationship.
