A woman in Pakistan faced a harrowing experience when she was mobbed for wearing a kurta adorned with Arabic prints, mistaken by some as Quranic verses. The incident occurred at a restaurant in Lahore, where the crowd demanded she remove her kurta.

The police were called to the scene to intervene and rescue the woman. A video shared by the police depicted the woman covering her face amidst the commotion, and a female officer, Syeda Shehrbano Naqvi, played a crucial role in calming the situation and escorting the woman out of the restaurant.

Ms. Naqvi explained that the woman had gone shopping with her husband, wearing a kurta with Arabic writings that led to the confusion. In an attempt to defuse the tension, she urged the crowd not to resort to violence.
